At last,
skipper’s boat is going back to sea. Because of covid she missed last summer.
But she is now on the trolley which will take her down to the water. She has
just had her mast dropped in with the crane in the background, and now an
expert has been lifted up to set up the mast rigging so that it will stand up to
the worst gales the Atlantic can throw at it.
And, we must
be polite about this, she has had her bottom polished, that is why it looks so
clean and white. And she has had blue anti fouling paint to reduce the
barnacles that like to attach themselves to her.
The yard
where she spends the winter is an historic site that has built many ships in
the past on a river that joins the mighty River Clyde at Dumbarton. I could
tell you more about Dumbarton.
